Nashville Symphony Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero Kicks Off Facebook Live Lecture Series on Beethoven’s Nine Symphonies

Nashville Symphony Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero returns to Facebook Live this Wednesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. to present a lecture and Q&A session on Beethoven’s First Symphony, the first in a series of weekly presentations on each of Beethoven’s nine symphonies, along with his choral masterpiece Missa Solemnis, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
Viewers of all ages are invited to tune in to learn about Beethoven’s first foray into the symphony, a work that draws on the influences of Haydn and Mozart while revealing the emergence of Beethoven’s unique musical genius.

The Beethoven lecture series is part of regularly scheduled online lectures and demonstrations featuring Guerrero, as the Nashville Symphony builds on its commitment to stay connected to the community and deliver dynamic virtual programming during the COVID-19 pandemic.
