Nashville CARES is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Metro Police Department (MNPD) and the MNPD LGBTQI Liaison. Nashville CARES has been approved by the MNPD as an official Safe Place location for the reporting of Hate Crimes, domestic LGBTQI assaults, and school bullying incidents. Clients or non-clients may report incidents here at CARES.
Thursday, August 1st is Election Day for Metro Nashville – Davidson County. This year, the eyes of many people in the community are focused on a historic first in the fact that there are seven openly LGBT candidates for Metro Council.
In Tennessee, it’s common for sex education to exclude proper information on STD prevention and care. Often the little education most people receive is abstinence-only. While technically valid, it purposefully excludes any information about safe sex and what you should do to prevent spreading STDs and how you should seek treatment if you do get one.
